San Luis de Sabinillas or just Sabinillas is located on the coast of the Manilva municipality. In the past several years there has been a rapid expansion with the building of new apartment developments, urbanisations and the construction of the Paseo Maritimo (promenade). This has made Sabinillas a popular residential location for people commuting to work in Gibraltar due to its proximity (less than 40km). Due to its expansion the tourist trade had begun to increase also. There are a number of hotels and self-catering apartments available in this resort.
Making up for the lack of Spanish cuisine in the port, Castillo de la Duquesa offers a quieter alternative to that of its neighbour. Located just a short walk along the Paseo Maritimo (promenade) this traditional fishing village is more laid back and more traditionally Spanish. There are a number of restaurants that specialise in seafood dishes, caught locally from the port and the bars have the same feel of relaxation as the rest of the village serving Tapas and locally produced drinks.
